On Friday, July 4, 2008, the Pensacola Area Sertoma Clubs will again combine their efforts to present, for the nineteenth consecutive year, the Pensacola Fourth of July celebration. Major support is being provided by Escambia County. Sertoma, with the name standing for SERvice TO MAnkind, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the speech and hearing needs of the community, and to date has distributed over one million dollars to selected community programs. This family oriented patriotic celebration is brought to you by Escambia County, Sertoma, Cat Country 98.7, NewsRadio1620, City of Pensacola, WEAR TV 3, Lamar Advertising, Florida Lottery, Knights of Columbus, Buffalo Rock, and Pensacola News Journal. Their support enables Sertoma Volunteers to bring you the largest Fourth of July celebration on the Gulf Coast. This is not a gated event. Admission is absolutely free. The daylong activities feature a large and completely free children's area with activities beginning at 11:00 AM, plus live entertainment, arts and crafts, food vendors, and other activities. The Iguanas will present our feature concert at 6:30 PM, followed by a HUGE fireworks display over Pensacola Bay at 9:00 PM! Bring your radio because CatCountry 98.7 will be simulcasting the carefully synchronized music. We hope that you will bring the entire family and enjoy this event which fosters feelings of patriotism, loyalty to country and pride in our community. Pensacola Sertoma's Fourth of July Committee |
